The 5K Easter Bunny Handicap was won by Jack Stockeld, who improved by an impressive 46 seconds. Next was Harlan Mulherin who improved by 18 seconds, to run in 17:57 in very windy conditions. No one else improved!! We awarded choccy bunnies to fastest girl and boy - Becky Rogers who ran 21:20 and David Gardiner who ran 17:07. Yann was fastest scratch runner in 19:01. Most even splits were run by Cam Gorman.

Olivia Gorman won the Striders Juniors Easter Bunny handicap mile on April 14th, improving by a massive 26 seconds. Second was Emily Gocher, who improved by 18 seconds, and third Harlan Mulherin, who knocked 13 seconds off his mile time. Six year old Ollie Stockeld won best dressed for Easter.

A lot of our Striders Boys attended an ANSW Middle Distance and SteepleChase superclinic with Youcef Abdi
Will Law, Dan Cooper, Locky Cooper, Jack Mills, Tom Davies, Nick Corel, Youcef, Adam Halmy and Ben Jagger
There were actually some non-Striders there - about half.
A blistering jog.
At the state road race on May 3rd at Sydney Olympic park Striders had a juniors 10k team for the first time, which was led home by David Gardiner  in 35 minutes flat, followed by Joe Jones, Ben Jagger and 12 year old Hamish Longworth. We also had an U20, U18, U14 and U12 girls team and  U18 and U14 boys teams too. All got medals, except for the U20 girls due to a stuff up on the part of the author of this gorgeous blog.

Janet Jagger in all her glory. Janet checked everyone in on the day at the state road race calmly, while u16 son Ben Jagger ran a 10K PB and helped the U20 boys win silver team medals and husband David ran a PB. Janet was also the main photographer on the day.

Below we see Caroline Yarnell with her new bestie - Olympic steeplechaser Victoria Mitchell. She won the 4k and the 8k mothers day classic races in the Domain. She runs the Manly Dam trail races too btw. She beat all of our juniors and Caroline (me) in the 4k I'm afraid. In this order they were: Tom Davies, Gus Wong, Caroline, Emma Kirkland, Matthew Hogg and Gemima Davies.

We now have 2 Striders nominated for the junior sports star awards - see below. The articles speak for themselves

The Coopers explored the sand dunes at Palm Beach and liked it so much that we are all going there to have a training session on the next public holiday. We'll be having a picnic afterwards to make it a social event.
